Impact

At Birkwood Primary School, we uphold the ethos of ‘The Birkwood Way’.

We are dedicated to providing not only academic achievements but also the personal development of our pupils.

We create a safe environment where children thrive both personally and academically.

We firmly believe that in order to develop in their learning, children must first feel safe, secure and supported. Targeted personal development initiatives are consistently developed and aim to educate our children about the values of self-care, empathy, and responsibility towards themselves and others.

Safety is the golden thread through everything we do at Birkwood. Our children know how to keep themselves safe.

A key outcome of our personal development provision is supporting our children to develop into well-rounded citizens who know the importance of respect and responsibilities. We strive to help children identify and understand the complexities of the world around them and to equip them with the essential life skills to interact positively and safely.

Children at Birkwood are respectful and inclusive as we know ‘Birkwood is for Everyone.’ Our school provides an environment where every child feels valued and accepted.

The impact of our personal development provision within our school is significant in shaping the future generation into safe and respectful members of society. We do this by supporting children to embody ‘The Birkwood Way’ in both their actions and attitudes.
